About
Xylouris White: "Progressive Cretan music?," you may ask. "What is that?" Come to hear Greek musical royalty Georgios Xylouris and Australian collaborator Jim White work it out.
Rolling Stone calls them “master musicians bonded by enduring friendship… locked into a rolling, modal thunder." We can't think of a better way to spend an evening.

On a double bill with Natural Information Society: "Uncategorizable" is the word that comes to mind. Also "psychedelic," jazz," "minimalism," and "experimental rock." (So I guess those are categories! But NIS doesn't really "fit" into any one of them...) So The Wire tries it this way: “It feels startlingly new, in terms of how the music is extrapolated, how the players relate, even as it feels like an ur-music, primal, body-centered, essential."
