Music critics have called his playing "superb," "masterful" & "wildly talented," while also writing that his ZonaVibe ensemble is "...an intoxicating Latin gem." In a busy schedule, he continues to perform to appreciative audiences across North & South America, Europe & the Caribbean.

Freeman's distinguished 3 decade career includes work with many noted Latin jazz musicians & ensembles. Among them are percussionist Ray Mantilla's "Good Vibrations," & pianist Lucho Cueto's "Black Sugar." Other credits include Grammy nominations for recordings in both Latin & non-Latin categories. His latest CD, "Blue Tjade," pays tribute to Cal Tjader, the late, great jazz vibist.
