Divanation Concert Series at Mandell Theater

DivaNation is a diverse and developing community of Philadelphia female vocalists who evoke the spirit of legendary Jazz singers such as Ethel Waters, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday, while keeping their eyes and ears open to the sounds of the future. The project’s goal is to create a community (a nation of Divas!) who contribute to each other’s careers and to their community.

Through performance, public rehearsal and artistic dialogue these musicians have given audiences in July and August a sneak peek into the collaborations which will culminate into a performance series on September 12th and 13th at the Mandell Theater at Drexel University....

DivaNation is a Philadelphia Jazz Project initiative, inspired by pianist, composer and master accompanist, Aaron Graves with musical direction by pianist/vocalist Dena Underwood and pianist Kendrah E. Butler.
